The gods themselves heard the vow.
On a distant star, too faint to be seen from the Earth, and too enchanted to be sensed by only the most blessed beings of the Universe, the Pantheon was in an uproar.
Hyperion and Theia had disappeared into the fallen realm of Mankind and had yet to respond to the beckoning of the Celestial Imperion. They were the guardians of earth-plane and were sworn to protect its sanctity at all costs, but Theseus feared they had been too slow to act this time.
While the ensemble of dieties from various worlds, realms, and dimensional planes from the vast corners of existence gathered together, fretting, arguing, mumbling and whispering amongst themselves, their elected leader watched the emptiness of oblivion outside of the towering window of the ivory palace.
The rules of eternity dictated that the native people of Earth would always be granted freewill to decide their own fate; that is, unless that decision meant the complete downfall of their species and their world. And, for the first time since the All breathed life into that distant realm, the true end of the earth-plane had almost arrived. Its creatures – all of them, least and greatest – were on the eve of utter extinction. The guardians had held back from interceding for far too long and now all hope rested in the hands of one pair of humans, who were barely into their human teen years.
Why had he waited so long to gather his fellow gods? Because he had always had a high respect for the resilience and wisdom of humankind. They were a proud and stubborn species, mostly due to their isolation at the opposite side of the universe. But this had been their greatest strength for so long, like battle-hardened soldiers, shouldering the worst wounds while building the greatest empire ever known. Yes, this was their great source of strength, believing they were surviving alone while hurtling through empty space, until this trait somehow devolved to their become part of their own annihilation.
Deceivers infiltrated them, casting spells of terrible conceit that heralded their doom. A society that fractures to its core is destined for death, eventually.
When the swell of voices and other vocals had reached its crescendo, Theseus erupted into a roar, ” ENOUGH!”
As he spun to face toward the interior of the grand hall, gleaming whiter than ivory and shimmering like the twinkles of faint, ethereal stars, the train and long sleeves of his flowing robes moved with him like a strong breeze, flowing and rippling across the translucent floor.
The innumerable members of this universal counsel immediately hushed to a respective silence.
“We all know why we are here,” his steely eyes moved over the various forms present. “The Earth and it’s people are about to fall. Forever.”
Once again, the hall erupted into vocal chaos, but fell into silence as soon as Theseus raised his robed arm and hand.
“As you know, the complete death of a primary world, such as Earth, could have catastrophic consequences. It could trigger a ripple that could eventually tear the fabric of this eternity.”
Again an intense and unified gasp shot out in all directions.
“So what do we do, Theseus?” The question pushed hard into his mind from thousands of others all at once. Had he not been an ancient being, well-trained in all manners of telepathy, the sensation would have been overwhelming, possibly even fatal.
“Shall we descend to Earth? Put the invaders on trial? Or just execute them, destroy their forms and expel them back to the Void?”
This was the unanimous thought of the members, take the easy route: Seek. Destroy. But Theseus knew that this would make them no better than their enemies who had used the same means to cause this near-catastrophy.
“No.”
Shock pulsed all around him.
“Then what, wise magistrate?” The delegates asked with eagerness that pushed toward him like a forceful wave.
“Before we declare war, we give humankind one more chance. They have two very enlightened beings standing for them. Though they are barely beyond childhood, they are strong and courageous. More importantly, they love one another fiercely and that love has made them more powerful than our enemies had predicted. They are our last line of defense against the great fall. Hyperion and Theia are with them now. They will train them as quickly as possible and hone their powers into sharp, unbreakable blades.”
He turned back toward the window, toward oblivion, and spoke to himself more than to anyone else in the expansive hall, “Because they cannot falter nor fail. They have no choice but to chop down their enemy. Our enemy.”

Their inky shadows slivered across the wooden floor of the darkened den.
Like a slow-winding river of slithering darkness, they crept up the legs of the pair of claw-footed, high-backed chairs. Slowly, purposefully, their swirling essence filled the spaces of the seats.
Legs. Arms. Torsos and heads. Suddenly, the whites of eyes opened wide then gleamed against the backdrop of their ebony forms.
Man and woman. Sinister. Vengeful. Overflowing with all the powers of the Void. The Elders were reborn.
This was their world now, and not even the gods themselves could cleave it from their grip.
Their first order of business: Find their wayward son and his peasant bride. Hunt them down and destroy them completely, until not even ash remained. Their powers had grown, even in the short time that they had been free. But they were slow to organize themselves, and that would be their weakness and their downfall.
The end of all Light begins now.

Ethan knew that mercy was not in their spirits and, if he were ever captured by them again, they would keep him alive to bleed him out slowly, one cut at a time… over decades, centuries eons, if necessary… whatever would make him suffer the most, until his very last breath. And then they would call him back to life, and do it all over again.

I.
Ruin and rumble.
On all sides. In all directions.
That was all the pair could see.
They stood, surveying the carnage which they had created.
But that was now.
A moment ago they were huddled together beneath the heap of heavy rocks and dust that had once been a dark castle on a black hill. They were protected from the immense weight of the pile by the energy bubble they had forged at the very last moment.
The moment when they, in unison – as they would always be from this point forward – realized that they were more powerful together than apart.
When the great revelation finally came upon them, and then manifested itself.
Shalise and Ethaniel were the most powerful beings in this universe. They always had been and always would be, but only when they were One.
Hands still clasped together, fingers interwoven – her cocoa ones twining through his pale ones – they breathed, again as a single force, slow…deep…purposeful breaths.
This was not a victory. It was only a beginning.
They had ended the dark reign of those who had dwelled within the walls now laid flat. Yet there was so much more to do. Ethan’s father and mother were not dead. They had merely removed themselves from danger. He could sense that – very clearly – and, by default, so could Shay. They were not near. The sinister force that had once haunted this ground had been forcefully swept far away, but not so far that their heavy presence had been completely muted. They were in hiding. Probably had taken a chosen few of their minions and gone to think, regroup, and plot their next phase. There was no doubt in Ethan’s mind – nor Shay’s – that they would resurface, eventually.
“What now?” Shay’s voice was soft, unusually soft, and its subtle texture pulled at his heart, causing Ethan to squeeze her hand slightly, tenderly.
He turned his blue eyes from the wreckage surrounding them and placed a tender, warmer gaze into her hazel stare. He loved her so much. It was an overwhelming swell in the center of his chest, a feeling of complete rapture that he had never known before and would experience only in her presence. He wanted to run away with her to the furthest corners of creation and wrap her so completely in his love, so that no force would ever be able to touch her luminous spirit or harm her perfect flesh again. Would that be terribly selfish to actually do that?
Just as quickly as the thought silked his mind, another tug called it back to the here and now.
Ethan’s eyes reluctantly looked away and back toward the coming dawn.
This time, for the first time in many years, he did not fear the rising of the new sun. The permeation of a once-feared dose of heavy daylight, instead, heralded a new sensation, which he welcomed.
It no longer burned to feel the ember waves of sunlight flowing over his skin. It was a warm caress. A revitalizing pulse of energy, renewing his purpose and setting his solemn vows into sacred places.
Ethan closed his eyes, tilted his sharp chip upward, locked his jaw tight, and breathed deeply of the new day and of the morning dew. Where once darkness had been his bondage, Ethaniel was, now and forever, reborn in Light. With his queen, his love, the other half of his soul, Shalise, by his side.
Dipping his face down and out toward the eerily silent city in the valley below, he knew there was much work to be done. Nothing stirred there. It was time to wake up others and bring them into this journey. They would need much help with what was to come.
“Now we fight.” He said, voice low and husky, filled with passion and purpose. “We hold the dark. Push it back, starting here and then move that front in all directions. This is zero ground. It will soon become sacred again.”
Shay moved her gaze in the direction that his eyes pointed toward.
She held tighter to his hand, and the glow at the center of their grasp pulsed again.
“We fight,” she repeated his oath, “We hold the dark. We push it back, as far as we can in all directions… Together.”
“Together,” he affirmed, as the couple began to move forward on strengthen legs.
II.
Theia nodded. She was finally satisfied.
“Now we help them,” the goddess said as she began to transform her energy and descend into the human realm. “This ending is the world’s new and much-needed beginning.”
“Agreed,” her celestial husband, Hyperion, noted in an energy pulse, as he also moved toward the lower world of mankind.
In a thought, they were both removed from their watchful post behind the curtain of creation and walking among the mortal beings.
They would not be recognized. At least not until they were ready to be so.
As they moved toward the edge of the muted and dirty city, the silhouette of a couple pierced the light of dawn spilling over the hill on the eastern horizon.
“There,” Theia said, “coming over that hill.”
“I see them,” Hyperion replied, “shall we introduce ourselves?”
“No,” her answer was sharp and low. “Let them find us first. This will be the first of many tests. We must prepare them in all areas for what is to come.”
“Indeed.”
And with that, like smoke and fog, the two were gone into the air.

“Shall we assist them?”
They spoke, but not in a manner that any human could fully comprehend, and not in a language that any human could completely understand or speak fluently.
They existed, but not on a frequency that mankind could dwell within for more than a flash of a moment, or what they perceived to be a moment.
They constantly observed, with the children of men having only the slightest sensation of their presence.
They battled and waged great wars amongst one another and on scales so immense that the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve were only signaled of their occurence by way of unpredicted and grand celestial events.
They also loved, more tenderly than any mother or father toward a newborn, and more passionately than a lover with a newfound kindred spirit.
Yet now, through all they had witnessed over the eons, since the dawning of all things, this moment had caught their fullest attention.
Great members of the House of the Pantheons stood on alert, contemplating if intervention was needed – not only to save mankind but, more importantly, to save themselves.
Man would continually evolve and regress and then return to a thinking, contemplating species only to tumble downward once more, as was his destiny, but the celestials were created to overcome such a barbaric cycle.
However, here and now, this perceived moment could potentially be the beginning of the undoing of the many layers and ribbons that enfolded the fabric of reality itself.
Hyperion, mighty king of Sol, looked, more like motioned his celestial energy toward, Theia, his wife, mother of Luna and Gaia.
She acknowledged him by casting forward a rippling wave of light energy of her own to touch the source of his being.
If they were to manifest into tender flesh, he would be in the appearance of a kind and jolly father, handsome and robust for his age; and she would be a startling beauty, too vibrant to be thought of as a mother and too enigmatic to be anything other than adored by all.
“We will wait,” was her quiet, calm reply. “They must prove themselves worthy of our help.”
He nodded.
She was correct, as always.
His wife was the more rationale one, and he, the more radical of the pair.
Where she was meditative and strategic, he was quick to action with pure emotion.
Still.
Still, Hyperion could not shake the feeling that on this particular point, she could be – dare he think it – wrong.
Perhaps not assisting the humans in this particular struggle could prove to be a mistake.
These two were different.
They were more like gods than humans.
Demi-gods, of course, but that was only a play on words and concepts most of the time.
Quickly, he returned his attention to the seriousness of the situation at hand.
Every timeline from this point forward played out before him.
The pair were victorious in none.
And in the process of losing, they would destroy half of the earth and most of the lifeforms that dwelled upon her, by accident, time and time again.
They were too inexperienced in this form of combat, and had very little knowledge as to how to truly harness, focus, and control the power that swirled erratically and chaotically within their genes.
Now bonded, they were like a nuclear inferno, with all of the correct fusions reacting all at once.
Poised to blow in all directions, consuming all things in its path.
“No, dearest,” he spoke to her in a loving wave, “you are incorrect. This bonded pair has already proven much.” He continued as his memory replayed the couple’s individual lifelines. “We have seen it, since their births, how they have already overcome many trials, traps, and adversities, and are still pulsing with a wonderfully bright beacon of purest light.”
He paused, awaiting a stern objection, but none came.
“Husband,” Theia replied, turning her glorious being in his direction. To Hyperion’s shock, she was smiling, or what a human would describe as smiling, if ever a human could see her true face without being consumed. “Finally. You see beyond passion. You see true reason. You see true purpose. And yes, I agree. My initial judgement was in err… on purpose,” she quickly added. “We will intervene…but not just yet.”

The greatest secret that I’ve learned is that happiness is born within. It is a wonderful, energizing, real place that only I can summon from inside of myself. After having the opportunity to experience so many elements that are supposed to bring happiness into my life, I have come to the profound knowledge that there is no source external to the self that will ever bring true and sustainable motivation, peace, evolution or ascension. These are all gifts of the spirit. Acknowledging them, receiving them, carrying them forward every into moment of existence. Living in my light.
Finding Glory is not an easy task.
In truth, it is not a task in the strict sense of the word.
It is a journey, more like an experience,
overflowing with journeys within journeys.
I think a blessed soul, who is truly free, will have the opportunity
to experience many diverse lives and lifestyles
all at once.
They are within a flux of constant and grand evolution.
They are always experiencing the weight, the wonder, the phenomenon, the illumination
of Glory.
The Glow will be undeniable.
The Energy they attract immeasurable.
They will experience as much of Glory as can be understood and internalized within the limits of the fold of the experience we know as
Humanity.
The greatest of these travelers will realize this truth,
Some immediately,
Others over the course of an exciting, interesting, and unusual lifespan,
and will come to embrace this gift and this majesty.
Many are called, few are chosen.
And with that, I realize
Fear and the fear of myself,
My grand potential and purpose within Glory,
are my greatest mountains, my most formidable foes, my most intense struggles.
The solution is simple.
I must show no Fear.
I must only live in Light, Truth, Love.
These are the offspring of Glory, and
The promise that I keep, the secret that I guard, constantly
Q. Lenise Lee (forever rose, fleur-de-lis)
There they stood, hand in hand, on the very edge of an unknown and unnamed universe mere moments after its birth. Swirls of multicolored dust and lights scattered and danced across a blank canvas. In what would be known as seconds, clouds of galaxies, bubbling over with new life smaller than a fleck, burst forth. In every direction, tiny diamond pinpoints raced ahead, signaling that this new creation was very pleased with how its makers had designed it.
The male, fresh-faced with an ageless appearance, looked over and smiled at the female. He watched her eyes shine and marvel at what they had just done. This same scene had replayed countless times, yet the joyous glow hovering upon her lovely cheeks always brought a renewed sensation of warmth fluttering within his chest. When they worked their magic together, every time was better than the first.
With the tip of his finger, he moved a lock of her hair and gently tucked it behind her ear.
“What shall we do now?”
It always pleased him to follow her lead. He lived to make her happy. His very existence hinged upon filling her heart with glee.
She turned to him, her gaze swimming with unspoken adoration.
“I think we should make…love.”
The corners of his mouth quirked into an impish grin.
“As you wish.”
Turning to face the new dawn and the endless horizons stretching out before them, together they strolled forth. Their flawless forms became smaller and smaller until they stood within the boundaries of the world they had just sculpted. As one, as always, they were ready and restless to explore the shores of their newest homeland.

When he had made the perfect knot in the tie, Jake stared at his reflection. So long ago but it seemed like only yesterday. A small smile tugged the corners of his lips. He ran a hand through his wavy, cinnamon brown hair. Today was going to be a big celebration; the biggest in his life, thus far. He needed to look perfect. No, better than perfect – flawless.
I imagine you holding me
I imagine you wrapping me in a tender embrace
I imagine your lips, whispering against my ear
I imagine you pulling me close, squeezing me tight
I imagine you wiping away all my tears, dispelling all my fears
I imagine your mouth, pressed against mine..time fades away
I imagine you and I, never again apart
I imagine you tending to my heart
I imagine you giving me the greatest gift, to feel what love is really like
I..imagine..You

Tell me how to forget.
Tell me how to let go.
To make this go away.
Ease this burden.
Please tell me how to release this breath,
I have been holding deep within
For so long.
Frozen in time,
Deprived of air.
Tell me how much I need
To drown myself
In hopes
In dreams
In sorrows…
Endless words…
Before I can finally be free
Of this puzzling memory.
Just once.
Just this once…
Please…
Step out of my thoughts,
Fill this voided space
In the caverns of my heart —
–
–
go or stay
stand or run
dream forever or be irrevocably awake
see all in one surreal, aching flash or shut out everything
cast a shadow or illuminate every creeping crevice
follow the path of the sun or become enchanted by the lullaby of the moon
keep quiet or shout, until the words echo back
ringing my ears
tossing off the cloak of despair
healing the blind eye
cleansing the marred heart
awakening the senses
sharpening the mind
preparing the soul
taking the breath
freeing the body
releasing the full force of destiny
–
–
Have I imagined all this, or
Have I just opened the door to reality
–
–
I know what I want to do
So why don’t I ever have the strength to do it
I feel the surge of infinite nature
The essence of a thousand glimmering suns
Racing through my veins
Yet the echo announces
Not yet
Steady yourself
Calm the storm
Lower the candle flame
The night is darker than it seems
Hide yourself behind me
Cloak yourself in the countenance of my wings
Shield yourself beneath my thoughts
Not because I despise your light
Because I want to protect it
Nurture it
Enhance it
Make it untouchable
From the reach of probing fingers
Which seek to extinguish it for always…
Love is like a wandering summer breeze.
Warm.
Tempting.
Indulgent.
Can it ever truly be captured for always?
I want today to be a fresh start.
I want to open my opens and see possibilities, not dead ends.
On this morning, I want to be Free to be happy, content, hopeful.
I need to feel my Spirit overflowing with radiance, touched by a spark of Divinity.
Whatever I accomplish in these small hours, if it be one small task or the moving of a great mountain, may my works have Meaning.
May my one Smile bring joy to as many people as it touches, and as many who will receive the love hiding within its gleam.
Today, I want to Believe. I want to Live. I want to Soar beyond the Great Heavens.

Recently, a very nice fellow blogger extended to me the honor of receiving a bundle of awards..And along with those awards came a list of ten questions..very intriguing questions that seemed to be aimed right at my heart and mind..
As I read each one, I felt a sort of stirring in my soul..A kind of subtle euphoria..I had found another set of keys..
Who am I? The ever elusive question that I continually ponder, for it seems I am never the same person for more than a single moment at a time..
Like the wind, I wander and shift with the turn of the earth, rise and fall then rise again with all the changes..upheavals and spirals..towering mountains and refreshing streams..of life..of a day..of an instant..
Yet..I seek a wholeness..a certain peace that can only come from discovering the truth behind the reason of my existence..the purpose of being here and now..inhaling memories of a forgotten romance..exhaling dreams of tender caresses and sweet kisses..
The keys to solving the mystery of..I am..are scattered, but every new and unexpected experience seems to pull me ever closer toward encountering..embracing..becoming enraptured by..what awaits beyond the opening of the door..
..Alas, since I am such a quiet, slightly awkward girl..I am always reluctant to share too much of myself..This time, however, I felt the urge to reveal another layer of *me* ..at the very least..bits of who I think I am..who I would like to be..
..If it is your wish to do so..my answers are here..
